NF NXS 2.5-10 vs 3-15

Mcmillan HTG edge fill with adjustable cheekpiece. Both have proof sendero lite barrels.
Here is my 300wsm. It has a nx8 on it now, but getting close to ordering another nxs 2.5-10x42 like the one on my 6.5cm.

@Formidilosus any downsides to a 2.5-10 Mil-R on a 22 creed Rokstok. I heard you mention hunting with fixed 10x. this would essentially be that for me

If you leave it at 10x, not really- though the reticle could be better. But, there’s also no reason to use the NXS at that point. I would just use a SWFA 10x and get a better reticle and eyebox that comes with fixed powers.

That makes sense to me, thank you, Sooner or later i keep thinking they will make this FFP. Sadly i dont think they care to make a better reticle though

I'd take the extra magnification. There's no reason not to. You don't have to use it but id rather have it and not use it than want it and not have it.. More magnification can definitely help you shoot more precisely. There's a reason benchrest shooters use 30-60x at 200 yds. At 500+ I'm usually running 15-25x, more with a lower recoil rifle and/or good conditions. Using lower power and making hits is one thing, spotting your splashes on steel, especially after theres several impacts on it, is another.
