The Maven 3.2 remains seemingly untested fwiw. Correct me if I’m wrong. And the 1.2 is unobtainable. If you want a proven scope that’s available now and those are your choices, only the NX8 is realistic.

At the risk of sounding ignorant, if one is going to develop DOPE and tape a drop chart somewhere on rifle and intend to dial for distance, does it really matter if it's MOA or MIL?
If you're holding for wind it does.

Here we go again. IMO, yes, on an academic level you can certainly make an argument for mils. But with a dope chart and/or a ballistic solver, both work and work just fine provided you practice. Use whichever one you prefer.

If starting fresh, I’d probably recommend mils. But some old dogs have a preference for moa, and that’s ok and doesn’t make them wrong, despite what the cool new kids say. Regardless of what you choose, just don’t forget there’s far more to hunting than just shooting. Hone your hunting craft first and your shooting craft second and you’ll have more overall success, even given the underlying message to the contrary often inferred here.
