News that’s gonna rock the mule deer world!

Agree. Big deer are cool but don’t rock my world. I honestly couldn’t care less if someone kills a new WR animal. It doesn’t effect me or my hunting one bit. Something that will ensure good hunting for the future. That’s world rocking.

Most people agree that Boone and Crockett records are one indication of good management. And good management helps us all

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought this when they read the thread title and comments. I’d take a CWD cure or some other major breakthrough to restore mule deer herds rather than a 400” nontypical that some dude killed with a longbow. I hope the “big news” is more aligned with the former than the latter.

I will agree with your statement. However, one big deer is not a solid indication to overall heard health or management. In fact it could just be the result of good private property management or a specific units tag allocation.

For instance the Jicarilla, the Strip or the Henry’s heards are not good examples of heard health across the respective states.

Just wait for it, it’s the best answer to your points made above.

Copy. That’s a bummer. Not trying to be a buzzkill, just thought it might be something bigger than one deer, even if it is a big one.

When the news comes out, and you do the math, you’ll see it’s not just one big deer

Well, unless he decides to strip the velvet and have it officially scored hard horn, it won't be the world record of anything. Just ask Cody Robbins.

If that’s the case my vote is don’t worry about an official measurement and keep it in velvet.

It’s starting to really leak now
