Newfoundland Moose hunters 2023 success

Has anyone on here ever gone with Get er dun outfitters? My buddy and I and trying to get a hunt planned for 2026 and that was an outfitter he heard about.

Had my first moose hunt last fall. I chose the fly-in because many forums indicate higher success rates when you're not competing with all the road hunters from town. We saw moose everyday and this was right after the hurricane with a lot of wind, fog and rain. It wasn't easy. We had to work for it but we got er done. The fly-in hunt will cost a little more but you'll be thankful for the investment and you'll have a great trip. Have fun!
one of the best advise and not only for newfoundland.

How did your hunt with Ironbound go?

How did your hunt with Ironbound go?
I'll try to make it make sense. The guide did everything possible, and was very experienced, but if there aren't any bulls in the zone, there's nothing he could do to make them appear. We had plenty of cows, and only one seemed to be going into estrus. We put on miles of hiking from ridge to ridge, both of us hunters, and guide as well as a guest the other hunter brought glassed, and called until I decided to take a dry cow which turned out to be a very old bull with no antlers. Two days later the other hunter and guide saw a 5 point harassing the one cow in estruss and tool that one. The bad part with them is they seem unorganized with hunter placement, game retrival, communication, and paperwork. I was told 4 different locations to fly from to camp, my license was initially given to a wrong hunter, my guide texted the coordinates of my meat, but the chopper didn't come the day we were told and when they did the pilot said no one gave him the coordinates, so I flew with him to get the meat, and then flew back to camp again. I was told I'd be back to my truck by noon and I'd would easily make the ferry that night. we didn;t get picked up from camp until 5:15 and were flown back to a different location than where my truck was. I got the helicoptor pilot to drive me to my truck. I was told the meat processor was 10 minutes north, it's almost 40 minutes away north. I got to the ferry literaly as they were shutting the door, they'd already canceled my ticket and room, but they sold me a ticket without a room, I was the last vehicle on the boat. The next day I found out that there was paperwork no one had told me about that I did't have. Luckily I got ahold of them from the border and they texted me pictures which didn't make the border crossing go very well.
