Newfoundland Moose Hunt

Looking at a handful of different outfitters for a moose hunt in 2026. One of the options is Off The Grid Adventures Inc, but I'm having a hard time finding information them besides their website or Facebook. Has anyone hunted with them or know of anyone that has hunted with them?

If anyone has any suggestions of outfitters, we are open to other options. Thank you in advance.

Efford's. I have hunted with them twice. I would advise the trophy hunt. It costs a bit more but its a great hunt. PM me if you have any questions.

4 of us hunted with Next Ridge Outfitters last fall. We all got really nice moose and had a great time. We did the backcountry camp with a helicopter fly-in. Amazing scenery as well. They get big moose every year in the backcountry camps.

Check out episodes of the TV show “Canada in the Rough”. They have hunted with both Next Ridge and Off the Grid in the last few years. Another show, “Nick’s Wild Ride” had a two-part episode with Next Ridge about 2 years ago.

Thank you, I will look into that review. I've been reading that almost everyone says to do the fly-in, as it sounds like the main lodge hunts can be a rodeo.

I did the drive in hunt with Effords, what a chit show! Never saw a moose, he’s a crook!

Sorry, I’ve been busy and haven’t checked the Forums for a while. We were there the week of 9/15/24. I think it was the start of the rifle season. A great trip.

Thank you everyone for the comments, and we ended up booking with Off the Grid Adventure for the last week of Sept into Oct 2026. We did look into Effords, but they did not have any rut weeks available on their fly out. Now I just need to purchase a new rifle for the trip.

Btw, we did look into Next Ridge but it was a bit outside our price range.

Thank you! This is a bucket list hunt for my dad, and happy we can finally make this trip a reality.

Side note: we were looking hard Arluk, but they would not call me back or respond to emails. Was very disappointed, as I had found a lot of great reviews on them.

What size moose are they telling you to expect? I know its not the same species as Yukon moose so curious what the expectation would be....

According to conversations with Barry the owner. From the main camp, which is a fly-in, it is 35-45" bulls. They have killed bigger as well.
