Newbie from California

Newbie here from California. My relatives are hunters and to tag along on camping trips I’m getting into the sport. Been doing my own research on equipment and stumbled across this forum. Hoping to learn more about gear to go in well prepared. Being comfortable and prepared, while out there with friends and family, is my objective and taking any game is just a bonus for me. Hoping to learn a lot on this forum as I get more into the sport.

I’m in Sacramento area. As for hunting grounds, I don’t know I’ll just be tagging along haha. I picked up a 6.5 CM and have been scope searching for a couple of months now. Also looking into what’s best to wear for staying warm in the wilderness. All my relatives complain about the cold but they don’t even know what merino wool is.
