New Weatherby Mark V Live Wild

I can’t get suppressors where I am and I still don’t want anything more than a 22” barrel and ideally 20”. These rifles do seem sweet other than that though and I still may pick one up in a 280 ai.

The focus of this line is light weight. They make plenty of wood stock rifles, the Vangusrds in wood are under $1,000 with a sub MOA guarantee. They do weigh more.
Carbon fiber is lighter than plastic. It should have a carbon stock for $1,650.

I’ve been really considering a 280 ai, I think these would fit the bill at a reasonable price. I do wish they had just stuck a plain barrel on it, that spiral fluting hasn’t grown on me
The Mark V hunter doesn’t have the fluted barrel. Little different, little cheaper; but a Mark V.

I've had one in .300 Win for 3 years. Great rifle. Stock isn't the greatest, but it's a lot better than most other polymer stocks. I personally like the Mark V action over the 307 (700 clone), they have a really positive feeling bolt throw and the safety is stout, which makes it hard to bump off unintentionally. If you like to swap components I would say go with the 307 just for the parts compatibility, but if you like the Live Wild as it sits I'd go with that. If you buy it and decide you don't like the stock, you can put one of the Peak 44's on it and you've got a Mark V Backcountry 2.0.

Picked up a MK5 Live Wild in 6.5RPM roughly a year ago. Super lightweight rifle that shoots most bullets very well. Landed on 145TGK’s at 3050. Fantastic backpack rifle
