New vs Used

I've read alot that buying new optics isn't always worth it so the question is. Used Meopta B1 Plus for $650 vs New Nikon HG's for $700. What would you do?

Quality optics are one of the best things to buy used.

Definitely the Meoptas.

What I have read lately regarding Meopta customer service would make me shy away from them.

I would compare the warranty if there is any and customer service.

Anytime you’re buying used optics there’s a chance it’s a lemon, so the price has to reflect that risk or you’re over paying. Also look closely at any images of the lenses. If there are any signs of the slightest scratches, smudges or signs someone used a dirty t shirt to clean the lenses beware. I also pass on any odd scratches or wear. If it looks like something was tampered with, dropped, run over, or in a house fire it probably was.
