Vortex just launched their new tripods. The are offering 2 new carbon tripods that are going to be aimed at the backcountry hunter that looks promising. As well as 2 aimed at precision shooting similar to the RRS and Crux.

Can't wait!Keep an eye out for my review of the new Radian Carbon tripod. I'll be starting a discussion thread soon.
Nope - this is a Vortex original, my friend!
If not Leofoto I'm guessing it's still manufactured in china? Is the Radian a rebranded Leofoto LN-364C?

Hey there - appreciate the feedback! For all the features you get in the Radian Carbon Fiber Tripod we felt $899.99 (or $799.99 for the ball head) is a pretty fair price - especially when looking at similar choices on the market.Seems a little steep on the radian for a made in china tripod when RRS isn't much more and made in USA. I put a stout CF tripod setup with a leveling head with pan for less than half that and all those parts come out of chine and use the same leg twist locks and angle locks.

Thanks for sending that my way - we always appreciate hearing feedback like this. One important factor to consider is while they are the same height, the product you listed weighs in at 4500 Grams (roughly 9.9 lbs) with out a head. The Radian Carbon comes weighing in at 5.4 lbs without a head. For competition and hunting purposes this is a big difference. Another key factor as you mentioned is the VIP Warranty. Even our tripods carry it.
Mine came with the same black carry case as the radian. Now it does have vortex branding and the warranty if it does break, but you could literally buy 2 of these.
I'm just calling it as I see it. It's an awesome tripod setup and probably worth $800, but if you're going to give money to china, give less.
True the one I listed I have and the weight rating is also higher. 88lbs, but I weigh about 190 and have hung from it before. They make one that is about 4lbs, same height, same weight capacity, and under $250.Thanks for sending that my way - we always appreciate hearing feedback like this. We appreciate the support, my friend! The cool part about the Arca-Swiss design is that it can take TONS of aftermarket attachments. I believe Leofoto, and many other, actually have adapters from Arca-Swiss to Picatinny for different platforms.True the one I listed I have and the weight rating is also higher. 88lbs, but I weigh about 190 and have hung from it before. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of vortex. The last 6 optics I have bought have been vortex, but I also see this as a rebrand. "Designed in the US" should probably be more than deciding where to put the stickers. It would be cool to see picatinny rail support on the clamp to accommodate more firearms.

Since you seem like an expert. Might I ask your advice on the summit 2? I was wondering if the reduced weight due to being carbon fiber impairs the stability of the tripod itself? Would choosing the original summit or the aluminum version be more stable? We appreciate the support, my friend!
