Anyone have any info about Vortex's release of new optics? In particular, I heard they are going to be releasing new spotting scopes, which is important because I am looking at buying a razor. I think there is some truth to the rumor... guys have claimed to have seen videos and cameralandny has marked down the current models significantly. Specifically, what is supposed to be coming out, when, and any info on changes/upgrades? If you've got a video link, post it. Thanks.

A half dozen optics companies buy their stuff from the same plant. I have a Vortex spotter without their name on it as it was a "pre branded" spotter for another company that was getting set up.

Wish we had a meopta meopro HD review, not much out there on it. I like the look of the new razor.

Looking at the specs, it's actually heavier than my Meopta S2 82mm spotter. And all of the Meopro products are assembled in America. So they probably don't come off the same line as the Vortex and the others.

The eyepiece is definitely not the same as the Maven, and goes to 60x.

It also looks like they call it an 85mm objective. The Maven is an 80mm. Although the actual spec and the model name can vary in optics.

Looks like an interesting option from Vortex.

I know Vortex has their own plant now that does literally everything, including glass. Does anyone know if this one is being made there?

Looked earlier and they updated their site and have the new spotters listed.

I see that they've now updated their website, and beside a color change and heli focus, I wonder what the differences are performance wise?

I also noticed the 65mm is 56 ounces compared to the prior model of 49 ounces.

Dot while not a review here is what I said in another thread awhile back

I bought one and compared it to a razor 85, both to me were even. I am no optics expert so take it for what its worth. between those 2 i would choose the razor based off ergonomics and warranty. you can also get the razor a bit cheaper. I returned it, sold the razor and am moving higher up the food chain.

For me the optics were even, so price and ergonomics would sway you one way or the other.
Another selling point of the razor was the weight.

Matt am I reading this right 27-60 for the 85 and 22-48 for the 65?

Could this point to better optical quality because the mag range is reduced compared to previous models.

I want to say he answered this when the razor 65 came out, different focal length but same eyepiece. My guess is that's the reason.
