G5 has had a "coming soon" section in their menu for a few months now that pointed to a "Dirty Bird" banner with a cartoon turkey logo, so speculation was that they're getting into the turkey game. Lo and behold, they just released a new mechanical broadhead.
3 blade, 3" cut, 125gr, rotational deployment mechanism. Apparently it's doesn't deploy on its own at all, blades need to be manually flipped down individually before being shot.
Sounds like the whole point was to be stowable in a bow mounted quiver so you don't need to be as cautious about having blades sticking outside the hood while moving around.
I see the purpose and I think it's a good idea, but I'll probably keep shooting my Magnus set for a while. I like the extra 3/4" cutting diameter and the bit of forgiveness it brings.
