Stopped by lgs the other day and they had a cz600 alpha in 762x39. After extolling the virtues of it (imagine) for a while I decided to bite since they had a significantly better than gunbroker price on it. After looking over the specs, nitrided barrel, aluminum receiver with integral picatinny, and switch barrel system, I feel like it’s a pretty neat gun for the money. Put a primary arms 1-6 on it, gave it the full degrease and torque and I’m gonna see how it holds up. I’ll mistreat it as much as I can stand and report back on it. Range day with 124 wolf soft points averaged around an inch at 50 yards. Out to the 200ish max if this thing it out to be a great vermin killer and occasional deer thumper. Yes, it has the wet noodle plastic stock, but I’ll see how it goes and probably throw in a Boyd’s at some point. With suppressor it’s still handy and very mild recoil/report. Anybody else running one of these?

Is the plastic stock on it really flimsy? If so, that’s a surprise to me. The plastic stock that came on one of my 457s is really nice for a plastic stock.

I don’t have one of those, but I’ve owned a couple of 527s. I am confident you will be happy with that rifle for quite a while.

Yes its pretty flimsy. My only other cz is a wood stock 457 and its nice. There was plenty of barrel clearance, guessing 1/8" all the way around or a little more so its free floated. The "bottom metal" seems to be mostly metal at least where action is seated/action screws are placed. I can easily press the forend into the barrel, but I'll keep a watch on it and see how it goes.
