New Trijicon Credo HX

Watching. I recently bought a Credo HX 2.5-10x56. Have it on a 300 AAC Blackout but haven't been out to sight it in yet. Glass looks nice.

Pretty sure its just the reticle thats new—the other sku they offer in that model doesn't say its new. There is a good review of the scope on the scope test forum.
Its a bit of an odd reticle to me. Looks fairly useable (if thin for my taste, but lots of folks looking for that). But if youre going to use the reticle, the subtensions seem pretty coarse to me and they appear to be calibrated for a cartridge with a LOT of drop. The drops are roughly calibrated for 200, 300, 400 yards but 300 and 400 are each even lower than my shortie 6.5cm at under 2600fps—so this is for a cartridge with a lot of drop. And the horizontal stadia are way too big to do much—5moa per mark is the equivalent of about 1.4mils. That first mark is roughly my hold for a 25mph full value wind at 300 yards.

I think at a minimum the horizontal stadia are missing any sort of useable marks for holding wind in the real world. Plus the usual caveats about trying to use the reticle on a sfp scope at 15x.

Put one on a buddy’s rifle and we both really like it. The BDC reticle is very practical/usable for guys who like that system. The elevation turret is definitely shorter as well compared to another Credo HX 4-16x50 I have on a different rifle.

Of what’s currently available in SFP with a hold over reticle around that price point I think it’s going to be hard to beat assuming it holds zero like the other Trijicons
