I'll add bring plenty extra cash to fix any unseen dramas. Visa doesn't help you to much out there and besides every Alaskan I've ever met has a soft spot in thier hearts for 100 dollar bills.

There is a drawing hunt in Unit 14B DC590 which can get you into the eastern edge of Nelchina caribou within the Talkeetna mountains. It is open to both R and NR to apply.

There also is a drawing hunt in Unit 20A DC827 which is the northern edge of the Nelchina caribou. Also open to both R and NR to apply.

Both these hunts require bush aircraft to access. DC590 can be accessed using several providers around Palmer, Anchorage, or Willow. DC827 can be accessed using Fairbanks, Northpole, or Delta providers.
