Hi all,

As you can probably tell from my profile namer, I’m from New Zealand, now living in Atlanta. I’m 44 and my passion is hunting (when family allows now), and I’ve had it bloody good in New Zealand, chasing red stags, fallow deer, chamois, thar and wild boar. I’m keen to meet up with some other hunters in Atlanta, and start doing some trips round the country chasing everything on offer here in America! So far I’ve scored a couple of whitetail, but the whole points system is new to me, and I love the open western style of hunting.

Anyway, be great to meet a few fellow hunters and do some adventures. Obviously anyone planning a trip to NZ, I’m happy to answer any questions you have.

Cheers
Dan

Welcome to America. Wish that I lived closer to help out. Plenty on here with lots of great info. Loved my one trip hunting in New Zealand. What a beautiful land.

One way to get up to speed fast is to join hunting fool or Epic Outdoors, they can explain the the difference between all the states what’s worth building points for and what’s worth just trying to do OTC. Once you have a handle on it then you can do it yourself. Good luck!

As the self-appointed chairman of the welcoming committee, it is my privilege to extend a laurel, and hearty handshake (virtual, of course) to our new GA (via NZ) member, Dan.

I’d be happy to show you elk hunting in Western Colorado. I’ve spent enough time in the Land of the Long White Cloud to appreciate Kiwi’s.

Welcome aboard! NZ is on my bucket list, Red Stag got me interested, but the Tahr is what has me hooked!
