New TMK announced

Yes it is haha. I’m sure it’ll make some ridiculous wounds but I hear you. I have a good bunch of the 156 I’ve loved.
I haven’t seen a specific bc for those yet either but I imagine it’ll be a similar relationship to the higher BC 7mm Bergers as well.
I was less interested in the 185 just because I’m sitting on a big ol pile of 195s I was planning to use in my 7–300 PRC. I will be very curious to see results however.
Yeah I have a pile of 180 Hybrids and am probably just going to rebarrel my 7-300NMI and lighten it up so that maybe I'll pack it hunting. But if the 185 looks good on paper and shoots good, it'll definitely be a solid choice for me. But I still will have a hard time grabbing the 7mm over the 6.5 after seeing how well the 156's did last year.

Anyone shoot the 88’s? I have a 1:8 twist 22 creedmoor. I wonder if they will shoot
I asked the Sierra guy at the Hunt Expo that question specifically. He said an 8 twist will not get you the full capability of the BC of the 88s. He said they need a 7 twist.

In looking at the Sierra press release, another new offering will be a 22 cal 77 gr Matchking-X.
The press release states:
Engineered for reliable expansion at midrange velocities, the MKX delivers match-grade accuracy in a true hunting bullet. With a high ballistic coefficient, it mirrors the performance of its MatchKing counterpart in flight, while providing the terminal performance hunters demand. From ringing steel to taking game, the MKX does not sacrifice precision for performance.

So Sierra has put the effort into designing a 22 cal 77 gr. hunting bullet- because the 77 gr. TMK is a match bullet not suitable for hunting! But they are calling it a Matchking-X.

To add to this irony, Form & company are testing the new Tipped Matchking offerings on game, and I assume providing feedback to Sierra.
Sierra's headquarters must be some kind of alternate universe staffed by ex millitary intelligence people. That somehow fall ass backwards into success. :ROFLMAO:
I've been waiting for a good 70+gr hunting bullet with high BC and precision. I for one am very glad they finally made one!

Well the 88's keep selling out fast everywhere. You guys haha.
If anyone wants to sell like 30 bullets, I'd try them in my 1/7 twist 223 and give some feedback.

@Formidilosus

Any opinion or first hand experience with the 6.5 153tmk vs. 156 EOL?

Initial results is as would be expected.

I do not choose Bergers when there are other options. I do not prefer the long neck length, and I do not want the inconsistency that accompanies standard OTM and VLD’s like Bergers. Same with the Matchburners- they kill well, I have and do use them, but they are not my preference.

I’m sure the guy said this, but my understanding of stability is that it’s a product of RPM which comes down to MV and the DA where you’re shooting.

Using the JBM stability calculator, a 1:7.5 twist seems to get to 1.5 pretty easily. 1:8, not so much.

Someone please correct me if I’m totally misunderstanding stability.
