New TMK announced

So for a 1:8 243 would the 107 be the ideal bullet? Would there be any noticeable differences above the 95TMK for 500 yards and in on whitetail size game?

Roger that. I’ve got the standard cut NR’s and have been curious to see how they’d act on deer/goats/bears as it sounds like maybe they wouldn’t have the chance to do the same amount of damage that they would on an elk, maybe acting more like a mono on those smaller animals?
My experience with them has been positive overall. Granted most of it was with a 6 UM at 3400 mv, but they did well out of the 243 Improved too. A couple wounds with slightly longer necks, but nothing that left room to question lethality.

Think the new 88 TMK will stabilize ok out of a 1-8 twist 22 creed?

I asked AI to compare the existing TMK line and guess at the length and BC of an 88 and it guessed
Bc: .510-.545
Length: 1.19-1.25”

Berger suggests stability :
1.28 w/ 1:8.
1.46 w 1:7.5
1.67 W 1:7

59* and 1000’ 3150 fps

You’d need to go to 6,800’ for 1:8 to get above 1.5 sg

Given the geometry difference between most TMKs and ELDMs, I'm guessing the 88gr TMK won't be as aggressive nose/ogive as the 88gr ELDM. Which means, theoretically speaking, BC likely a little lower than .545 G1 of the ELDM. I'd assume it should work well in 7 and 7.5, 8 is velocity/DA dependent.

But, also likely, AI > me.

115 dtacs need 0.200 freebore in the 6GT in my opinion. The 6gt has a longer neck than the creed, so the creed should probably be around 0.220 optimally for the dtac.
Longer neck, yes-- but .185" shorter case should allow more room out front in an M+ mag, no?

I keep thinking of some sort of 6mm bore rider design for GT.
Why bore rider? Stepped throats or +P is a poor trade off of a lil extra velocity in trade for a throat that moves 2-3x faster than a conventional 1.5° lead angle. The 6gt performs very admirably for its 44gr size. This new 107tmk will be a great bullet for it, with its short bearing, it'll run 50-70fps faster than a 108eldm, have near same BC but will percorm to much lower impact velocity if these new bullets share traits with the 77tmk.

I'm an engineer who's learning to shoot -- You're probably three levels above my pay grade on this :D

My thinking was: shorter case allows longer bullet in same COL & mags. Bore rider allows potentially higher MVs versus a super long bearing surface.

Just take the 6gt for what it is, near 6br accuracy and super easy load development, but a lil slower mv VS the creed/xc/x47. The decision a guy needs to make is barrel length, and velocity desired with X bullet, this tells you case size needed.

For reference a 21in 6gt will still run heavy for cal bullets at 2800+ mv, which is where 18" 6cm usually run. It's a very efficient case, especially in shorter barrels. 21 is the shortest I've gone with one.
