For the ELD-M, does that include 88, 147, 180 primarily? Are there others?Everything is a trade off. The design that produces max BC in a tipped bullet, also effect terminal ballistics.

Just for reference. Would the rare cases where the ELDMs produce a lack luster wound channel, would said wound channel still be better than a solid copper like a barnes? It’s all of them at times, but those have been the most consistent in it that I have seen. In that order as well.

Probably be a Formidilosus signature range for twice the price. Totally worth it.They will probably make about 10k of each. Someone here will buy them, show results and drive the price to infinity.
And then we'll wait 2 years to try the magic pill which ends up being "pretty good ".
The heavy 6’s is what I’m looking forward too but I’m pessimistic about Sierras ability to make enough to support the demand
and seeing’s how they still don’t know the exact weight means to me it’s low on their priority list.
I fully understand what you are saying. I think some people dont. I'll continue to use ELDMs but am also going to try 130 TMKs in my 6.5CM Match/ Hunting Hybrid just because. If they shoot as good as the 140 M's have I might shoot the TMKs for a year.Yes, almost always. When they don’t upset like they should, they produce wounds more like Terminal Ascents below 2,000fps impact.
Not that you are, but somehow this is getting misconstrued as to what is happening or being said. We are not saying “ELD-M’s suck”. We are saying some of them can be variable in their behavior- and it’s the wrong way. When they do something odd, it isn’t “massive huge wounds”- it’s lack of wound channel width. Unfortunately much like Hornady’s lot to lot inconsistency in loaded ammo- it seems to be getting worse.
Personally every real bullet I have seen “fail” in ballistics gel testing and in animals has been from a lack of upset- not exploding and failing to penetrate to the vitals.
Being that there are bullets that do not exhibit this behavior, or do it less often- ELD-M’s are not, and have not been my first choice for a long while.
My preference in general, in order-
1). TMK
2). NR DTAC or ELD-X
3). ELD-M or Bergers
4). NBT’s, Partitions, and or Fusions
If you are going to make up stuff, at least make it believable.
Really- go ahead and show where. All of your points below, pretty sure I was the first to bring them up- a long time before now.
Who coined that name? Go ahead and ask him how long it took me telling him the ELD-M 88gr sometimes failed to upset well before he saw it with his own eyes. And how long ago was the first time that I posted that ELD-M’s in certain calibers/weights don’t upset like they should sometimes- it been at least 5 years.
Where does this even come from? I think I stated that they spun too easily and the reticle ended up being a little too thin within 2-3 months of them being on the market.
You generally post decent thoughts, why are you going weird now? You are literally making up stuff.
Interesting. If kept above 2000 fps in 6.5mm would your preference still be 143, 147/156?My preference in general, in order-
1). TMK
2). NR DTAC or ELD-X
3). ELD-M or Bergers
4). NBT’s, Partitions, and or Fusions
It's listed in an above post. 88s 147s and 180sWhat caliber/weights don’t upset like they should in the ELD-M? Genuinely curious.
