New Titanium Dead Air OTB

Finally get around to report back. I got the chance to test the DA Nomad OTB next an AB Raptor 6 with the the 3 inch adapter on a 16.5" 308 Winchester. I also got some footage that will need some editing and may put up later. That's a maybe though I'm not into all that editing crap.

On to the report. The AB Raptor 6 definitely sounded/felt quieter on the first round and was maybe a little quieter on the 2nd round. The first round pop sounded/felt louder on the Nomad OTB the 2nd shot was definitely quieter. This was a side by side comparison in an enclosed shed used for shooting. Allbeit they are both quiet and completely usable in hunting or whatever else. The form factor on the Nomad OTB is shorter.

I have done some field shooting in the mountain with the DA Nomad OTB on my 17.5" 7 BC. When shooting in the field in the mountains the Nomad OTB was very pleasant to shoot without ear pro. I wouldn't recommend it because it will still cause hearing damage and I will from here on out doing with ear pro if possible. I won't cry about it if I need to shoot without it. The Nomad OTB does the job I want it to. Had to test it for science.

A thing I will note about the adapters, they do add weight but I love them. The reverse thread and tapering on the muzzle device has been great as far as user experience. The lockup after threading on gives me zero concern and no hassle. I think the extra blast protection from the muzzle brake types on my practice rifles is a nice idea; not sure how much it will matter though.

I will be buying a second one for when my Wife and I are hunting/shooting together.

No for not it’ll just be the reaper variations with a removable end cap.

The OG 6.5 is 1.55 and og6 is 1.625 so not much different in OD but still not removable on the end.
Maybe a dumb question. Why can’t UM build a OTB can with a removable end cap?

They can and they did with the OG-L IIRC. Assume it adds cost and weight and maybe eats up a c unt hair of volume. One more thing customers can F up too :ROFLMAO:

The Recoil X on the end if my DA OTB virtually eliminated “perceived “ recoil on my 16.5” 6 CM. I like having options. Also really reduced recoil on my 20” 6 UM.
I really want to support UM, but I think I’m gonna buy another DA OTB.

There will be 3 reaper/reflex options later this summer with removable end caps… I’d bet money better than the dead air too.

Hopefully I don’t get yelled at again for comparing our cans to competitors. LOL

The fact you don't have to use a xeno is worth the wait on the reaper...
The xeno is the only thing keeping me from buying an AB Raptor. I have more rifles than suppressors and the left hand thread and taper is a better adapter interface. If you have a 1/2x28 threaded rifle just get the dead air and xeno you have to use an adapter anyway.

This is exactly what I did.

3 rifles with different thread pitches… all have xenos and it’s great.

Cant wait for my nomad otb to come in.
