NEW - Tikka Roughtech SuperLite - 5.8 lbs - NEW

I bought one of the superlite rough techs with the M15 threads. I too am not thrilled with the included solution. In an ideal world precision armament would make their little M4 thread adapter in M15-5/8. That product has solved 9/16 problems for me nicely in the past.

Does anyone know of a similar adapter from another maker in the needed size?

Wish a direct thread hub adapter would solve it for me but these new 3D printed titanium cans don’t play like that.

Looks like I’ll probably just reinvest my $75 rebate plus some into a gunsmith’s services. I’d prefer it a bit shorter anyway so it’ll all work out for the best. The pics somebody posted of a barrel that had been chopped into the flutes did not offend me.
That style of thread adapter just isn't really possible.
M15=.591" major dia
5/8-24=.580" minor dia

So the M15x1 thread is large enough that it interferes with the 5/8-24 thread, leaving no meat for an adapter.

I had to knock a few thousandths off the hex corners on mine in order for the OG to seat properly. It's not beautiful, but is entirely functional -- and buried in the OTB portion of a can 99+% of the time.

If SRS were to offer an M15x1 adapter with the cross head like they use on their 1/2"-28 adapter, I'd buy one. Not worth the squeeze to cut, thread, and bush the factory barrel just to lose half an inch here.

Regardless, the rifle will get a 6mm GT (or perhaps .22 GT) barrel once I've finished shooting through the 6.5 CM ammo I bought (and and put a couple reloads on the brass).

Based on my research, there's no such thing as M15 to 5/8-24 because the thread diameters are too similar to leave enough thickness for the adapter. Good news os that we have nearly 2" of smooth 0.670" ish diameter barrel before the flutes to chop and thread 1/2-28, or chop into the flutes for a slightly less esthetically pleasing solution.

Sure enough. Sometime I just need someone to do the math for me.
