I see a bunch of you folks have picked up the new Tikka Roughtech Ranch 16"

https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/tikka-roughtech-ranch.372716/

but I'm hoping some of you can post some target or at least comment on the accuracy you are getting out of the shorty barrels. I'm thinking seriously of a 223 rem and 308 in this rifle, but I wouldn't be interested if I would be giving up accuracy compared to my Tikka Lites in the same calibers. Thanks Folks

You’re not giving up any accuracy. At least I’m not with the .223 roughtech ranch I bought. I’ll see if I can find some targets to get pictures from tomorrow. I only have 100 rounds through mine in two range trips but shot a 20 shot group the other day that was basically a 1” ragged hole. Buy with confidence.

I had my 20" compact 308 chopped to 16" it definitely did not loose any accuracy if anything I felt like it improved and like above it shot a ragged 1" hole when verifying 0 after a fall.

That's a long 223 Rem barrel and a short 308 barrel. Barrels do not get less precise at shooting when "short". If anything they'll experience less whip than a longer barrel, and with that rigidity be more precise in some cases.

I can't see a reason to grab the 223 one when you can just use an AR-15. Tikka is spamming SKUs these days.

Nothing to worry about here. 16” is an excellent tikka barrel length. There will be no accuracy discrepancies due to length.

I recently bought one and have put 80 rounds through it. This 10 shot group was shots 10-20 on the rifle.
