New Tikka Ring Option from Warne

I've had them in my cart since last night trying to buy them, but the 18 in/lbs for the bottom screws keeps stopping me. That just doesn't seem right. I don't mind 18 up top. If their material is so weak it can't do more than 18 on the bottom then I don't have confidence in their grip.
I got cold feet and backed out

Is this a nightforce thing as well? I don’t have any of their products.

Just thought it was odd the way it was added separately to the cart from the rings. Probably a moot thing for me to notice
Not the tikka version but I’ve got two pair. The separate clamps were on my invoice at no charge as well weren’t in the package when I received them

I’ve mounted them both on relatively light scopes and relatively light kicking rifles. So far so good

FYI these are also the lowest 1” picatinny rings out there

Okay good to know, I initially thought it would be good to try on 223 and see how they faired. How long have you had them?

Just long enough to mount them and zero the rifles.

I can’t remember what I torqued the cross bolt screws to. 20 or 25lbs I’d guess. 18lbs as spec’d on the ring screws. No loctite, degreaser screws before i started. Everything felt solid

Let us know how they hold up

Are the seekins/ vortex and most others like 35 in/lbs for the base? 18 seems pretty light

I can't remember what I torqued my Seekins to. I want to say 40-45 in-lbs... I know that the MDT rings are supposed to be 35 in-lbs because I just broke a clamp the other day trying to torque to 50 in-lbs. Luckily MDT was nice enough to ship me a new clamp for no charge

I use 45inlbs for this style. The hyperlites I had didn't have an issue with the cross bolts, it was the ring cap screws.

They failed zero retention via drops on a set that did not strip out at 25inlbs, and then the other sets did strip out at the same torque. I suspect that cerakote contributed to the slipping.

The discussion I had with Warne involved their expression that they were still learning about the material and would go back to engineering with the issue. My conclusion is there's no upside to these rings, and I had originally bought them because of cost compared to MtnTech.

Vortex are 30, just did a set last night. Nice big fat screw heads too not those itty bitty things. I don't like a lot of things Vortex but the Pro rings I'm a fan of. I believe Seekins are made by the same manufacturer. Those are Pic mounts though so maybe not apples to apples, more direct comparison would be the other Tikka specific options.
