Foidel Canyon is dyneema. I think you are confusing dyneema with cuben. Two completely different materials.

Or, maybe I've lost my mind. The Foidel uses 30d Dyneema ripstop nylon, the new stuff uses the DCF, aka cuben.

I'm sure Seek will do it right, but hard to top some of the long time cuben shelter builders. Nice to have the option. A cuben lbo would be sweet... in camo dcf

Kevin used to build cuben shelters when SO first came into action, then he only made them as a special order item. So, somewhere out there, I believe there are a few CF LBO’s floating around. I’m glad to see that they’ll be offering it again as a standard option.

I think calling it dyneema is a misnomer anyways. DCF is a laminate reinforced with dyneema, whereas the BA shelter I was referencing earlier is nylon reinforced with dyneema. I guess we could technically call them both dyneema and confuse the hell out of everyone lol.

We are using Cuben / DCF. We use a slightly heavier variant, which ironically I have been told by their employees is a much better shelter fabric.

We save almost a pound. The Cimarron, one door , no jack was 21 ounces .. add a stove jack is 3.

We have done a lot of temp and burning stuff as well.

Likely at first, it will be limited to the Cimarron, and maybe the FaST Tarp Shelters

a 21 ounce cimarron sounds like a very attractive option.

I know one of the knocks on DCF is abrasion resistance, do you see any issue with that on the sod skirt of the cimarron? I cant think of any other DCF shelters that the fly touches the ground in a similar manner.

We are using line locs and cordage ..however the sod skirt is not a problem ... we had the shelters in several big dumps pitched to the ground . As far as the knock on abrasion I'd suspect it is much more of a cuben pack fabric ... where ya the abrasion is not the strongest by any means

I know it says availability is TBD but do you have an idea of what the price will be for the cimarron?
