I have a one man tent I usually use but I finally got my dad into backpack hunting and he’s coming on a trip with me next year, with that being said I’ve been looking at bigger tents and have a few ideas but wanted to see what some of you guys run and what you like/dislike about them. Ideal looking at a three mans because we’re both pretty big dudes. Thanks guys!

I have a Mountainsmith Mountain Dome 3 that works pretty well. It's relatively heavy (about 6lbs total weight) to carry around for 1 person unless you go with the fly and floor only option. But, for 2 people it works well. There is enough space you sent feel like you're going to wake up spooning your hunting buddy, 2 doors and vestibules for gear, and if you split things up between the 2 of you to carry around it's not a bad amount of weight. Plus I got it with a veteran discount for around $120 a few years ago. It's held up very well, especially for the price I paid.

Any thoughts of a floorless shelter? Save you a lot weight and there are many options out there depending on what season you pick you could run a hot tent and depending on model have enough room to stand.

Came here to suggest this. Seek Outside, Kifaru, TiGoat and Jimmy Tarps all make nice floorless shelters that will be lighter weight for size than a regular tent. Then you have the option to add a stove as well, which is nice!
