New Suppressor Brake option for Scythe

I would not put another dime towards the Scythe Ti, but it is an interesting thing to consider.

Must resist. Do Not Need. I’ve already clicked “buy now” once and made it out without the hole in my wallet.

STAYQUIET15 gets ya 15% off. I was moving through checkout and some plugin I put in Chrome a while back threw that in there. So that was nice. But I'm sorry.

At this point, I would be more likely to order the nice wooden RokStok for a Chinese Mosin-Nagant than buy a new accessory for my Scythe Ti.

The Scythe Ti is a great can! You seem like a numbers guy with all the decibel research you have done on the other cans, The failure rate of the Scythe is actually Very Very low.

Recoil X has their new Gen 2 brake available for the Scythe also

On January 1, 2025, I’ll trade you a Scythe Ti and $200 for a Reaper. And all paperwork done properly.

Interesting. I haven't been able to wrap my mind around what exactly makes a big difference on these end cap brakes like a normal brake, but the port sizes seem pretty big still? I assume thats why the 3 port anchor isn't as effective as say the recoil x, because the ports are huge so the gas pressure drops quickly in them?

I'm sorry you feel that way. I choose to continue enjoying my $1300 (with stamp/tax/shipping..) purchase!

I admit I haven’t used of these suppressor breaks and am not trying to be critical of anyone’s choices. But I cannot understand the logic of buying a suppressor and changing out the front end of it to make it louder.

I might take you up on that on Jan 1st

I just don’t trust it. Numbers and stats only go so far. I wouldn’t use any weapon that had a 1% chance of catastrophic failure. And I sure won’t let my kid use it.

They actually work quiet well at matches where you are wearing hearing protection anyway. At the end of a weekend of shooting I don't have a headache as I did before from the concussion of just a muzzle brake

The Logic is simple. A person desires a good end cap brake when they value spotting shots and recoil reduction more than a few decibels less noise. Still a lot quieter than a bare muzzle in most cases.

The noise difference between my scythe or XC with an end cap brake and an aggressive muzzle brake is probably more than the difference between bare muzzle vs standard suppressor.

I dont intend to hunt with end cap brakes on cans unless i start hunting with magnums again in which case i probably would! They are nice for the range and comps though.
