New Suppressor Advice

I’m in the market for another one. I currently have a CGS Hyperion that travels from rifle to rifle. I absolutely love it, on my 6mm arc bolt gun it’s quiet enough I can shoot it with my horses down range and they barely even look up. Use it very often for shooting coyotes and prairie dogs that attempt to trespass in those pastures.

That said, I need/want another one. Primary use for this can would be in my two ARs. Possibly even just my 6mm ARC gas gun. I’m very tempted to buy another Hyperion, not likely the Hyperion K as I think I’d be underwhelmed in the sound suppression.

So I guess that brings me to my main point. What other suppressors offer a similar sound reduction as the Hyperion? Doesn’t have to be as quiet as I can just use the same bolt gun around the house. But what other options should I consider for similar performance? Or would I be better off just buying another Hyperion?

I'll take a stab at this. The Hyperion is the quietest suppressor I have used. It is also the only long heavier suppressor I've used. I want my rifles to balance like before I added the suppressor so I cut the barrels to 16"-20" and add roughly a 6" 8-13 ounce suppressor. The newer ones are shorter and lighter. What I'm trying to say is while the Hyperion is quieter it's not enough to offset the length and weight for the type rifles I like to shoot. I think it comes down to do you put more value in your rifle being as quiet as possible or balance/handle like it did without the can while having still having good suppression. I don't know about any of the numbers or anything but for me the lighter shorter cans are close enough in suppression I prefer them over the extra length and weight. We all have our own preferences and opinions though.

At the time of purchase of my Hyperion, sound suppression was number one. Each rifle I’ve acquired since has gotten shorter and shorter barrel lengths, in part because the Hyperion is over 10” when used with their adapter. If there’s not an appreciable notice in sound difference going shorter I’m going to revisit the Hyperion K. Having already fitting every rifle with a muzzle device, staying with CGS makes some sort of sense.

Cat ODB titanium. Designed for the AR platform with no gas to the face (including AR10). Highly rated on pew science with the notation that it does well over a variety of platforms and calibers. It's 7" long and 10 ozs. A little shorter/lighter if direct thread, a little longer/heavier if spooky mount.

I currently own two and may add another. Have both direct thread and the Spooky mount version. Prefer the direct thread but almost indifferent and would buy whichever was available.

FWIW- I also have a PTR Vent 1. It is quieter than the ODB but it's not much quieter. IMHO The ODB is tough to beat when balancing length, weight and suppression at the ear. I believe the PTR outperforms the Hyperion according to PewScience.
