That would be an expensive ground cloth! Look into Tyvek or something similar for a few dollars and hardly any weight.

I agree it would certainly work but you gonna wear it out a lot faster. Up to you if the weight savings of using it in place of a more conventional ground cloth is worth it. Also it would be a really slippery ground cloth.
