Heading to Colorado for an early season archery hunt this fall. Need an entire glassing setup.

I’m not going to be able to buy a spotter, buddy & I are going to rent instead for this trip.

I’m looking to build a system that I can eventually add a spotter to down the road (65mm).

Bino’s: EL 10x42. I do like the NL Pure’s, but to my eyes the EL’s were fantastic. I live in and hunt Iowa primarily so will use these around home as well.

I’m thinking about the Aziak bino clamp deal, and a Tricer LP head.

I’m not sure which way to go for a lightweight tripod. I’ve heard Tricer has a new option coming out that’s supposed to be amazing, either the AD or BC model.

Thoughts?

Great binos. Archery elk or mule deer? I wouldn’t carry a tripod for archery elk. My lightweight setup is a slik 624 w/ RRS BPC-16, it’s right at 2lbs.

The BPC-16 is a fantastic lightweight head. I've used mine hard for 5 years. It even handles my spotter, though that weighs less than my binos, at 28oz.

I also use the RRS-Cinch to mount my binos. Simple, solid, low profile and slides in and out of my bino pack without snagging or hanging up.

@Jacob Chapman , good luck on the hunt.

My 10x42 SLC's sit on a Outdoorsman Pan head and Outsoorsman medium tripod. Not the most lightweight setup, but I think it is nice to have a bit of weight when the wind is blowing in the high country. I have 15x56's in my pack as well.

Also Demo Leica Duovid 8+12x42 Binoculars for only $1,499.99. This binocular is a dual power, 8x and 12x, two magnification factors in one pair of binoculars. They are fit for observing objects at long distances or in critical situations with failing light. These binoculars deliver a consistently bright and clear image and adapt quickly to the viewing situation. One simple action is all it takes to change the magnification factor.

Ended up with the Tricer AD & LP Pan head, first high quality tripod & head system.

Very impressed with the weight, just have to decide on bino’s now
