Sounds like interesting tech. Bartlein has been doing gain twist for a long time, but more to the likes of 1:14-1:5, Proof is claiming 1:500 start twist ending in 8 twist.

If the claims of barrel life increase, could be good for the 6UM when the 6mm variants launch. A test 300 Norma barrel went over 2700 rounds still shooting.

They claim 20-30% reduction in dispersion too.

No 6mm either. Which is weird. I’m sure they’ll roll out more options over time
Agree. I’d love to get a Creedmoor or GT barrel with basically unlimited barrel life.

My big question is going to be how short of a barrel can they make, and still get the gain twist benefits?

There is another video of a 14.5 AR barrel, and there is 16.5 22 cal blanks on their website.

I hope they come out with the pxt in the steel barrels soon. I got a 25 creed coming together slowly and id like to try the new barrel tech out.

The Hide has a barrel expert’s take on it for another perspective. That said I hope the claims are true.

Does anyone know if it’s feasible or if they are working on making standard cartridges with these casings? With the 7BC the steel casing is supposed to handle the increased pressure but then I remember folks talking about actions needing to be beefed up too so wasn’t sure if both are true or if it’s a real possibility to see a .308 or other standard short action cartridges at 80k. .223 would be awesome too. Proof saying the industry is moving to 80k so I’m really hoping they are working on standard cartridges.
