I hunt with a Tikka superlite that bounces between a Altitude stock and XLR chassis. Gun hammers in either setup. Known commodity for me.

Been looking at Seekins HIT. Like the quick barrel change setup. Doesn’t fit any other stocks from what the interwebs says.

Also looking at Solus or Origin receiver and putting my own together. Had switch barrel savages years ago so feel comfortable building.

I was reading the S2H class thread earlier today. Sounds like the Tikkas were the only ones to really do well in field conditions. Is the easy button just building a Tikka or getting a CTR barreled action?

If I bought a used custom(MPA, GAP, etc), would it just explode the first time I shoot from field positions. Sarcasm obviously!

Shoot 2 Hunt is a little extreme on their testing. Not saying it it’s not valid, just extreme.

Every barrel can be a quick change. Put wrench flats on it.

What caliber?

I personally would do a Solus with the shorter bolt throw.

Tikka is an easy button if you are buying without modifying it. If you already run a Tikka, stick with the platform?

Any other things you want?

Going with 6.5CM mainly because I already reload for it and like how it shoots at the stock and at the target.
Wouldn’t mind having a 6.5PRC and 223 barrel combo though just for something new.

Solus and Origin can swap bolt heads, if you want to go that route. On the other hand, most people who start with a switch barrel end up just buying more rifles, lol. It only makes enough sense if you shoot enough between barrel changes. As in, shoot .223 in the off season then switch it up for your hunting caliber for season.

Why would you go 6.5 PRC over 6.5 creedmoor? Extend the range?

Check out the new Tikka ACE or other offerings. They may fit the bill.

I would go prc just because it’s something different and I feel like the added power with slight recoil increase would be better if I go back to hunt elk at some point. 223 and 6.5prc would handle any situation I’m likely to encounter. And I already have a CM so gotta have something different on the wish list.

Solus would be worth looking into for sure. I got premium dreams but Black Friday sales money.

Sent a PM.

With the Solus, you can get prefit barrels. Even find nice used ones. Red Hawk had bolt heads.

Then again, there are Tikka for sale at Eurooptic that would be hard to beat and customize.
