Just going by the video alone it looks like the new frame is going to be pretty durable. Also I don’t think Aron would go the carbon route if he hasn’t had the chance to use the crap out of it and make sure it’s good to go. I wonder if there will be different frame length options. 25” is going to be too tall for me.

I’m not a Kifaru fanboy by any means, I have a Shapecharge that I think is the last whitetail pack I’ll ever own, but use a SO Lanner for my other needs.
That said this frame looks incredible, and am super happy that Kifaru put some emphasis on innovation of their frame, not just more bags.
The price might be a bit higher that competitors, but that’s a big piece of Carbon fiber, made in the USA. Congrats to Aron and the team.

For the hunting I do, I have always been of the same mindset. I do think there are people who have plausible arguments for wanting to shed weight, but it should never be at the cost of heavy load comfort/ability

My kifaru setup was certainly heavier than most of my packs I’ve owned, but prior to getting the pack I currently use, the kifaru carried really heavy loads well, and better than others, and the stability with a really heavy load was exceptional.

I never complained about the empty weight of kifaru, because they felt good and stable when I needed it the most, and I was happy to accept the couple pounds extra for that

I have no doubt this new frame will be awesome, and would have zero durability concerns. It will be a great system.

My current pack is all I could ask for in a hunting pack, so I won’t be getting one, but looking forward to reports when a bunch of people get some use out of them. I know this will be a stellar frame, and if it wasn’t for k4, I’d be getting one.

I always root for kifaru and still own and use a good amount of their gear, and I want them to keep doing well. Competition drives innovation, we are all better off because of it, and we certainly don’t want to see American companies lose momentum.

The new frame looks pretty sweet, and if they improved what they had and shaved a little weight without compromise, even better.

the issue is exo is also 100% made in America. So exo has figured it out and also ships with 24- 48 hours. Exo does so by staying small and stream lines and only sells packs and seems to be doing it better then their competition.

Made in the USA and berry compliant aren’t the same.

I’m the farthest thing from a kifaru apologist but I believe carbon fiber technology and processes have come a long ways fairly quickly. 2017 carbon fiber and 2024 carbon are probably not the same thing. YMMV

There’s truth in this. Also carbon is just one aspect,the material. The design plays a big portion. I think the design, not material, is what caused issues with Kuiu’s frames.
It remains to be seen on the ARK but it looks good. No glaring stress concentrations and it broke on its weakest axis when it finally did break.
I’ll see how the first run of users feel about it before taking the plunge, if I even do.
FWIW, I had a duplex hunter fail too and I’m not that hard on stuff. It happens.

Hats off to Kifaru. Thank you for bringing more products to the market.

It is unfortunate that there is negativity and even some disdain from members here. Hard for me to understand. Regardless, if I am going to buy a product or not from a particular company, I am always happy to see new HUNTING products enter the market. We have a free market …. for now …… do we want less products and companies out there supporting the hunting industry?

And interesting question comes up when watching the promo video. If the Duplex Lite broke with 60% less force...Ive never really heard of the Duplex Lite breaking under hauling loads.. Wouldnt it be better to remove whatever material you can from the Ark frame and make it equal to the duplex in durability and pitch it as equally strong but a noticeable amount lighter?

Would you rather a frame equal to the Duplex Lite in durability and remove all the weight you can to make it happen, or do you want a small weight savings and have it 60% stronger? Then again maybe removing the material to make it equal in durability to the Duplex LIte doesnt really make all that much of a weight savings.

I guess that will be the Ark Lite one day.

It’s a marketing video, strength is a different thing than durability. They didn’t think they needed it to be 60% stronger, they just couldn’t compromise durability, so in some metric it turned out to be stronger, but that’s certainly not the whole story… just the part they want to point out so you upgrade from their duplex lite.

I don‘t think the 7 years is what distinguishes them. The shape, specifically the lack of thin weak spots, will result in the Kifaru being extremely durable.
