New Mexico Unit Wide Land Owner Tags 2026

Morning guys, it's crazy but we're already planning our 2026 archery elk hunt to ensure we have somewhere to go. My buddy and I are hoping to purchase 2 unit wide landowner tags in NM for second archery in Sept. Ideally units 34 or 36, but not opposed to some of the more forested/public units up north as well. Several outfitters can get tags, but they also require us to hire their guides to go with.

We just want to purchase tags and will camp ourselves/go unguided. Am I being naive, or can we purchase these tags without the guide obligations? If so, where best to purchase? We didn't see any of these on Hunting Fool last year.

I ran into a few guys in a non trophy unit this past fall, they paid 7k all in for DIY landowner vouchers

I bough the same tag a decade ago for 1k!

Keep in mind you pay for the voucher, then you pay game and fish for the tag and license!
