Lucky enough to draw a New Mexico Unit 23 muzzleloader tag in early October. I know its not a 16, but the northern part of the unit is just below 15. On the east border is both 16A & 16D. The western border is Arizona Unit 27 which I know takes allot of NR points to draw. My question is not only on access and road conditions this time of year. I'm also wondering with so many good units surrounding this area, will hunting pressure in those top tier units possibly be my friend. Being that the northern part of this unit is pretty narrow, I was hoping some Elk may move into this area if it doesn't have as much pressure. 23 doesn't get talked about much. I know its a fairly tough unit to get around as is doesn't have all the roads that Unit 15 does.
