New Mexico Road Access

Hi,

I'm scouting for hunting spots in New Mexico and am looking at all the roads on ONX and trying to figure out which ones are legal and which ones are not legal as they cross private lands. Specifically, I'm in unit 41 which is 80% private. Most roads are unmarked and cross private lands. There are some County highways listed. Any resource that can guide me to what is and isn't legal?

OnX has never been a source for legal road access. I would look to the individual county gis dept.

I’d also like to know this. I’ve been driving on what looks like county roads only to be turned around by gates and phalanxes of cameras and signs.

I know ONX was not a good source for sure. The GIS tip led me to this link and I think my problem should be solved https://mapservice.nmstatelands.org/HuntingInformation/

There's roads officially marked on this map which I'm assuming should all be public. Certainly does not show the amount of roads as ONX.
