Great goats! Congratulations. NM had a pretty bad drought during the time of horn growth. Looks like your Pronghorn’s were not affected . Did you use a outfitter to buy your tags or hunt with or strictly a D.I.Y. ? Pretty fun hunt chasing those goats, and I am just now getting into my NM Pronghorn meat. Thinking some chilli sounds pretty good about now.

I have been told dry years can produce better horn growth - it makes opposite sense to me and I did not delve into the reasoning but the word came from someone who appears to be able to hunt more Pronghorn than many.

I too would like a bit more info if willing :
  • Was this one of the 'get a tag and you are told here's a place you go' or was it a targeted tag that you already had a place lined up [friend/family etc]?
  • Fee involved?
