New Mexico land owner tag

Hi

First post here. Hope I’m doing it right. I have the opportunity to get either a unit 10 or 13 land owner tag this year. The 13 tag costs a little more and I am trying to make the decision on what hunt to do. The 13 tag is for the second archery hunt and I have the option of first or second in unit 10. Any advise or experience is appreciated.

Bigger bulls in 13 but fewer elk. 10 has more elk but less chance at a big boy.

I did second archery lo in 10 last year. Were in elk every day. Got real close but never released an arrow. Had 6 hunters in camp, all had basically the same luck.

Thanks guys I really appreciate the tips. Most people are saying 13 is better more elk. But some say 10 has more elk. Tough decision. Unit 13 tag is almost twice as much. I did 10 last year and saw some elk but only had one bull under 60 yards.

13 for sure.

I’m leaning toward 13, I did 10 last year. I kind of like that it’s primitive only and it would be fun to see a different area. It’s a long drive from western Washington to eat a tag though.
