MDT just introduced a wood stock. My first impression is that it looks cool, seems pretty well thought out with the mini chassis , good adjustability, and not terribly heavy. Obviously the new wood Rokstock is out there, but is there a market for this?

I think its cool but it is 650 dollars and heavier than the tikka hunter and the bottom metal is only for AICS so no factory mags

I think there is a market and it's a step in the right direction. But just looking at pictures and specs there are a couple near misses for me. I'd like a steeper grip angle and a hinged floor plate option, especially with a wood stock. Magazines are great most of the time but I hate hand carrying a rifle with two inches of magazine hanging out and I'm not spending almost $400 on a Hawkins Hunter setup. MDT's 3 rd fixes that for some cartridges but not all.

I like it but not sure it has a place for me. Real close to KRG bravo weight. Might be a nice alternative to the echo. It's a quarter the cost of the wood rokstok but the two are far from apples to apples. I bet it has a better inlet and recoil pad/spacer interface than the standard rokstoks though.

The new Core bottom metal caught my attention a bit more.. Flush fitting AICS bottom metal that fits in a tikka CTR inlet. They advertise fitting with pure precision and manners inlets but i dont know why a stockys wouldn't work as well other than the fact that the high desert standard BM doesn't fit the best in stockys inlets either.. It makes me consider calling UM to see if I could change the inlet on my current rokstok order to CTR otherwise i'm going to need to order more waters mags.
Edit: Cody at UM said the stocks are shipping from stockys already so inlet is done. Shucks.

Wowzers! How much is the new Wood Rokstock?
