When did you order yours? Did you order direct from MDT? I ordered mine early June.

Direct from MDT. One of the first back orders I think. Last week they were still confident of within 10 weeks of order date

You ordered last week? I am four weeks in and figure I will check with them first week of August if I haven't got mine. I should have just got one from the company they bought the rights from. They have a bunch here in the States.

The mdt dosnt pan (mountain) which makes the original a non starter for me

You can actually lock out the pan on the mtn gear and that’s what I did because I too cannot stand a panning bipod.
It’s done so via an adjustable grubscrew and a ball bearing that fits in those detents so it is reversible if you want the head clamp the other way.

It also made the arca and picatinny version interchangeable by swapping the clamp. I've got both ao can run it either way.

Can you buy both heads seperatly from mdt? That was my concern, if I get one these, it has to be arca and Pic. I bought a grnd pod from mdt and they wouldn't sell me the arca head to change over a picatinny unit, kinda pissed me off. But they just wanted to sell a another bipod.

Don't know. I know Matt so have his design haven't seen any of the MDT ones don't think there's any in NZ yet. Looking at the design it's not as simple since the pan mean the head was seperate

Looks like you got plenty of answers regarding the difference between the OG and MDT. Sounds like mostly interchangeable head for Arca to Pic interchangeability and the pan sounds like it can just be locked out. My other rifle is full length arca and I'm not looking to save weight. I would never put one of these on it. I have a Warne Precision on it and really like that bipod. Highly recommend that one if you're not looking to save weight on something for target and comps.

Just to clarify the old version used to be able to swap heads and pan (as well as lock pan) the new version does not appear to be able to.

Those things have been readily available on gun zone and they're like 333 bucks on there. I sent an inquiry yesterday to MDT and today received a tracking number. I wonder if they're just forgetting about orders or who knows what. Either way mine's on the way. That's all I care about. I wish I wanted an arca cuz I would have bought it from gun zone

I wasn’t in a huge rush but happy I didn’t pay retail for mine knowing that gunzone is slinging those things at dealer cost or close to it.
