New Marmot active insulation

Anyone have anymore thoughts on these? How breathable is the face fabric and is it more durable than the outdoor vitals one?

More durable than the OV one yes. Handled light precip. But I usually wore it under a rain or wind shell anyway. I paired it with the kuiu alpine jacket for temps about 35 and still hunting whitetail. I never was cold but maybe a tad warm still at times.

How's the sizing compared to the OV?

Fyi, it's on sale for $112. Very tempting...

I usually wear XL (6'1" 215, 45-46 chest, 36" pants) and the hem on this is too large for me and without a draw cord. The neck of the hood is weird and doesn't cover the front of my neck at all when zipped. The fleece is much lighter weight than the original sitka 1/4 zip, and the face fabric is lighter as well.

Minus the neck and hem issue, this would be a decent option for very high output, but I usually will just go with a baselayer with a jacket made of similar material to the face fabric on this then throw something like the sitka piece or puffy over when things slow down.

I own several active insulation jackets, and this one ranks near the bottom of the list.
