I have a couple Rossi R92’s, they take a little work but make a nice shooter. I’ve been looking at these new modernized levers for awhile. I can’t quite go there with the Magpul stocks and mlok forearms but I did order a Rossi R95 Triple Black in 30-30 that just showed up. Nice pic rail but the rest is classic. I haven’t shot it yet, looking it over, all I can say is “wow”. They have really up’d their game. Silky smooth and the trigger is phenomenal. If it works well I’ll eliminate the cross bolt safety nonsense. It’s a shameless copy of a Marlin 336, I am familiar with some of their 1980’s work and never was grabbed by them. This thing puts those to shame in fit and finish. I also looked at the Ruger/Marlin but for the price difference I just don’t see it.

Really looking forward to screwing the can on this thing, and giving it a little dance. Also picked up a Burris 2.75 fixed scout scope for it. But the irons are sweet.

I really don’t need a lever gun, but I want one. I could do 30-30… but

…what I really want is a modern one in 25-20 to thread a can on. I have my granddad’s Winchester with the octagonal barrel and awesome patina. It’s fun to shoot.

It is really amazing to see the difference in production these days. Modern factories can do great work.

My dad has a 25-35 model 94. An old one with a tang sight. It’s a great carrying rifle.

Lever guns are sick.

I’m currently trying to go back a century and buy a 25-20 or 25-35 from the late 1890s. Think it would be a sick gun to have in the side by side/fourwheeler and to let my young daughter plink with!

Winchester Model 65 in 218 Bee is about the coolest old lever made for a centerfire
plinker. I have a few 94’s and a 1938 model 71 deluxe that points as naturally as my finger. Lol.
