I picked this kit up in mid-October. Previously used the Gen 1 Solitude, and for a short time Gen 2, Sanctuary (almost immediately sold due to bulk). While we haven’t gotten into anything to cold here in MN & WI, I have ~ 6/7 sits with it, dipping into the 20’s. I can confidently say, being cold will not be an issue. Coming from First Lite, super impressed with the wind proofing on this kit. I wore it in a saddle today (30F) with 20+ mph gusts and i was perfectly comfortable. Really appreciate the hand warmer pockets in the back of the bibs, while I haven’t run it on a super quiet morning, I’ve had some good, close encounters and no concern with noise. Pocket and fill placement make sense and are well thought out, jacket compressed down enough to fit in my daypack. Which for me was a major selling point over the new FL kits and Sitka. Bino harness doesnt work wearing it in the saddle, but I’ve found that to be the case with all of the whitetail focused, cold weather gear. At no point has it felt “heavy” which I got with the Sanctuary and Fanatic. Flung a few sticks wearing only the jacket and dont have any concern with draw cycle. I have worn just the bibs on a handful of other sits and they are the star of the kit IMO. There is still some “puffiness” to the arms, but that’s been the case with each manufacturer in my experience, partly due to body size (5,10, 175ish). I do wish the bib pocket was full pass through, that is also what I have been used to. Certainly aren’t hiking with it on, obviously heat can be dumped but it really retains body warmth. I am in the middle between a medium and large for Kuiu, if you’re on the fence I’d go up. So far I am really pretty happy with it. Nothing jumps out as a concern on longevity.
