The case is nice. My sling seems unusable. About 6 inches of strap above the padded part I can’t adjust out. It went back in the box…
And don’t forget there’s a sticker in there too…

I didn’t get it on a closeout but do have one in 280 ai. I’m real happy with it. I sighted it in with the factory muzzle brake, then swapped the brake to an Area 419 Hellfire cause I can’t stand radial brakes. I don’t know what happened but it shot like sh!t with that brake. Swapped it to a Jetblast and it went back to shooting little groups again. Only thing I can think is that heavy brake messed with harmonics on that thing barrel. I’d never seen anything like that.

Great info.. Yes those ultra light barrels can be rather finicky.

Just picked up my 7mag today! Initial impressions are great. The sock feels really nice, with very good texture. I see what folks are saying about it not being Tikka smooth, but it's not bad at all, and I'm sure will slicken up with use. (ETA- I cleaned everything up and gave it some fresh lube and a good 10mins of rapid cycling and it already feels smoother) Just waiting for my bases to show up and I'll get some rounds down range. Weight with the thread adapter installed is 7# 7.7oz on my scale.

The 243 shows up Monday, and the Talley rings for it show up today, so I kind of botched the timing on both rifles and mounts, but I'll get all my oal measurements figured out for the 7mag and load up some initial rounds for it.

I grabbed a 7-08 but am regretting not getting a 6.5 as well. I talked myself into when they were out of stock and out of it when I they came back in stock. I have a nice Vanguard in 6.5 and a super accurate RARP in 6.5 that I used to justify passing on them.

Picked mine up today. Much lighter than it looks, and stock is extremely rigid. Wasn’t sure if I’d like the vertical grip style but it feels great. Out of the box the bolt isn’t even half as smooth as my tikka T3. Going to tear it down / clean / reassemble, work the bolt a couple hundred times to try and smooth it out some. I hope it shoots well. Anyone know what the torque specs are for the action screws?

Id recommend everyone strip their rifle down and remove excess oil around mag well, action screws, etc

Thank you! They were right at 50 from the factory, I’ll tighten them up.
