New Kimber Mountain Ascent 799 bucks

Fellas, if your wives give you any shit about the purchase, tell them some stranger on the internet said it was a good investment and his wife is pissed too.

I never had a desire to own anything chambered in 6.5cm until now. Just ordered one. Thanks for posting this

My fear is this closeout price spells the end of the line for the 84m. I hope I'm wrong. If you've ever wanted one, buy now.
I agree 100%

Think the Gen 2 MA was the last attempt to rekindle the Kimber mountain line and it hasn't panned out.

Eurooptic selling those leftover parts 308s for cheap too.

Can't think of any other reason they'd be blowing em out at 50% off, will see if other retailers follow suit.

I don't think it's the end of the 84M; I'm just betting it's an end to that configuration.
If I was CEO at Kimber:

Roll out 1 mountain rifle line, hybrid of Montana and Mountain Ascent.

Traditional stock geometry, 1 color choice, no gay camo.

Chamber them in .308, 6.5 CM, 6 CM, 22 CM
And come out with a mini action for 223, 22 ARC, and 6 ARC.

All rifles offered threaded, 18" or 22" with radial brake.

Sell em like hotcakes to the ultralight backcountry niche, and consolidate their old Montana, Adirondack, MA, Open Country, Sub Alpine lines.

Do one thing and do it better than anyone else.

All those in favor, say "Aye!" Congrats, Ian. You're now the CEO of Kimber.

Did someone say “gay camo” …

I don't even give a shit about the camo if they did it in 6CM or some of the mini action offerings. Hell, even if they slapped a big #3 on there like Remington used to do for the Earnhardt series, I'd buy one.

For those who snagged one of these, what scope are you topping it off with.
I'm going with a Steiner H6Xi 2-12 MHR MOA reticle

The only other one that I've been considering is the new Burris Fullfield 3-12 w/ the BDC. I had the Fullfield IV on my last Kimber 6.5 Hunter and loved the versatility.
