I've always had a little vile of super glue to go with some steristrips in my med kit.
But I just glued a pretty nasty cut right by a fold in my finger with skin affix and I'm sold.
If my wife didn't sell med supplies I would've never tried this, it's pretty expensive. Like $15-$20 for this . 4ml tube

But man it worked. Curing time is no different than super glue but it's antibacterial and supposed to be more durable.

Really wish it wasn't single use but since it was free to me one is going in my car, med kit, camping tote and home.

It took a day to arrive so it's not a fresh cut but I had a hard time keeping it closed with kinetape (cut like a steri strip) and superglue.

Pic shows what it looks like now. Realistically, if I went to urgent Care I probably would've got stitches. But... C'mon.

Mine is skinaffix (2-octylcyanoacrylate)
There's a ton of other versions

Durabond is the same stuff, vetbond is different but same purpose (less flexible but not single use), and gluture is 60% human/40% animal glue. For centaurs I guess.

What do you all keep in your med kit as a "must have"?

Haven't used that but, have used Dermabond. The flexibility of the product makes it superior to regular super glue.

Dermabond works really well. My son had took some handlebars to the face racing motocross in Arlington this year..... Surgeon glued him up in favor of stitches

I keep Exofin with me. I have pretty easy access to it in my hospital as we keep it in our nurse' servers at the bedside.

I cringe reading threads like this. The last thing you want to do in the backcountry is glue shut a dirty wound. You’re asking for infection. Wash it with clean water, put a bandage over it, and see a doctor if it’s bad enough to need stitches. No need for this stuff in your kit.
