I just heard from QAD and they answered some questions that I had about their new lineup of heads for 2013:

1. For the 125gr heads, the additional weight is in the diameter of the ferrules, and in the washers, and also in the blades. This is why those components are not interchangeable with the 100gr heads.

2. The Deep Six are ready; QAD is just doing the final testing.

3. The Deep Six will only be available in the 100gr heads to begin with, in both Full and Swept models.

4. The blade angles for all Exodus heads are the same: same for the 100, 125, Deep Six, Swept and Full models.

It's the same on the 100 and 125. Blades are .040" and the cutting diameter is 1 1/4". I have taken over a dozen different big game animals with these heads, in the US and in Africa. They are the toughest head and toughest blades I have ever shot. I used the same head on multiple African animals, without even retouching the blades. Here are some pics of the carnage:

I think you mean 1 1/4" cut diameter. Cause a 1/4" cut wouldn't do a whole lot and they probably wouldn't sell too many.

Is the ferrule machined steel or cast? Or aluminium?

The entire head--blade and ferrule--is stainless steel...Rockwell hardness in mid-low 50s, I believe. These are the best all round head I have ever tested. If I factor in flight, durability, construction, penetration, and diameter of cut--they are the top of the food chain.

machined or cast? Montec calls their heads stainless steel but it's cast. No thanks.

I'm not at all interested in changing broadheads as I am 100% satisfied with my current choice (VPA), just what to know what else is out there.
