solid suggestion, herePerhaps letting people know where is the closest butcher, people with animals to help pack out,
Will it tell you what unit I’m in?Yes. It will use your phones location and it'll tell you what unit and sub unit you're in.
I'll add to this, agreed this would be really useful information. In addition the nearest USFS office and/or contact info in case needed. This would have helped me this past weekend (granted they are closed on the weekend, but still.)solid suggestion, here
"points of interest" you could call them, meat processors, people to pack out, where to buy a license, check stations, etc. local dnr offices, anything like that
I have thought about trying to develop an app to make people like golfing and tailgating.Any app that would reduce the numbers of hunters in the field will be an immediate success. Don't bring more in , find a way to purge the knuckleheads, and long range narcissists.
No 22cm or 6cm for moose? There’s an app that’ll tell you what calibers!(well, it’ll soon be out)

What problem is he fixing? Genuinely asking?I'll add to this, agreed this would be really useful information. In addition the nearest USFS office and/or contact info in case needed. This would have helped me this past weekend (granted they are closed on the weekend, but still.)
Man the toxicity in this one is rough...good on you OP for doing something about a problem you have and fixing it yourself. Ask for suggestions and get keyboard warrior'ed to death...
Pretty sure no where in his post did he say he was fixing any problem? What problem is he fixing? Genuinely asking?
edited, maybe toxicity was a bit strong but the first page or so just read like 'why bother', 'this is the problem', etc. instead of providing any useful feedback like OP asked fortoxicity? wow
Reads more like other peoples opinions to me
I'm not disagreeing that tech should not replace basic knowledge and skills, but it's clear that OP is putting a lot of work into it and trying to make it into something useful. and it takes balls to solicit public feedback, especially on the internet, was just surprised by the answers, that's all. What problem is he fixing? Genuinely asking?
Asked the guy who I quoted said he is solving a problem, so I wanted to know what problem he thought was being solvedPretty sure no where in his post did he say he was fixing any problem?
just attempting to provide a informative tool
posts 11-13, informational app, consolidating useful information in one place that the other big guys don't have. Not trying to be the next OnX, etc...Asked the guy who I quoted said he is solving a problem, so I wanted to know what problem he thought was being solved
Come to a trailhead in Sept, Oct, Nov, in Colorado, it could not be any easier at this day and age to get into hunting and it showsedited, maybe toxicity was a bit strong but the first page or so just read like 'why bother', 'this is the problem', etc. instead of providing any useful feedback like OP asked for

Typed it better than I could@hunthikecamp I started typing a snarky answer, erased it, and figured the truth is best.
A lot of us are just plain fed up with guys trying to monetize hunting. We feel it’s ruining our hobby, so don’t be surprised when you get pushback.
Understood and I don't disagree with you. especially in light of recent events.@hunthikecamp I started typing a snarky answer, erased it, and figured the truth is best.

This is Rokslide, those are absolutely adequate calibers for moose and all other big game in North America. You didn’t mention much about bullet choice so wondering if that will be included in the app? Remember bullets matter, head stamps don’t.I’m not sure if you’re trying to be funny here or legit asking. But that is a screenshot showing a small snippet. You can download the app once it’s ready and see the recommended calibers and find out if those are on there.
