New guy question on bear hunt New Mexico?

Found this forum a couple months and finally made the jump and joined in. I did a ton of backpacking hunting this fall in Colorado and am hooked now. I'm slowing purchasing all of the necessary pieces and parts for 5-10 backpacking trips. I am about to turn 20 and am really looking forward to future archery backpack hunts. Saying that, does anyone have any info on OTC bear hunts in New Mexico?? I am wanting to hunt the first season in mid august so I can sneak back and make the first day of college. I would be looking for somewhere that I could backpack in solo for a couple days!

I've seen bears in NM but the 3 units I've elk hunted in NM- 16D, 15A [now just 15], 53 wouldn't be where I would do a bear hunt- sorry, I got nuthin

Nor Cal is infested with them, as is Ore, and Ak islands....all great backpacking spots.
