New from (Central) Illinois

Been reading these threads for a long time now and finally drew a mule deer tag in NM 2b for 2nd rifle. Mostly a whitetail hunter and had decent success hunting public land in Illinois for big deer but now its time to jump into something new, and something i'm assuming to be significantly more challenging. I also plan to do more hunting out west and have read anything I can get my hands on. Hoping to retire out west somewhere after I retire, maybe add a conservative vote to Utah lol, i hear they are getting harder to come by.
