There are a couple of new shelters from Seek Outside getting an official launch this week at the Western Hunting Expo in SLC. I've had the good fortune to get my hands on them a few months in advance. I've utilized this light winter to spend a little time in them for an initial impression.
The Bookcliff shelter is a BIG two-pole design with a lot of cool features. The main ridge is 7.6' tall and the two poles in the peaks span about 9'. The total interior area is close to 190 square feet. Packed weight with the 2 very stout aluminum poles and stakes is around 12.5 pounds. One of the standout features is an awning that can be extended for the ultimate in air circulation and a bump-out on the backside that give the footprint a very usable space. So for I'm very impressed with it's ability to handle snow and rain while providing a massive living space.
I'll be putting this shelter through more use this spring throughout the bear season and will have a written review soon after. In the meanwhile, ask questions and go check out it out in person at the Expo.
