Im sitting in the hospital waiting room waiting for the 1st vrandbaby to be born so i figured id give a 1st impression report on my new duplex frame & highcamp 7000 bag & acceszories that came in the mail yesterday (exact day of estimated delivery).
Unboxed it & the bag qas already on the frame. Slipped it on & other than having to lengthen tbe waist belt (im still 15# over what i told them for weight) it fit like it was built for me! Oh wait, it was! Thanks Ethan!
Quality of build seems excellent. Sewing 1st rate & everything looks great. Foliage color seems very neautral & should work in the spruce, birch, tundra, or rocks. Threw enough weight in to make it 50#, tightened the waist belt & climed on the tread mill. Did a good (for an old fat guy like me) qorkout alternating every minute crom max incline to flat meeping up an avg pace of 3.1 on the incline & 3.4 on the level for 30 min & then a 5 min cooldown. Pack felt great! Was really impressed with tbe comfort. Cant wait for the snow to go away so i can hit the mountains! Cargo panel seems very well built & sturdy. Like the design. Seems very practical. Hope to throw a bear in it to test it in about 8-10wks. Got it with thw gun bearwr. Had a gun bearer installed on my eberleztock & love them for long guns. For me best method for carry, especialy for tbe alders & mountains. I prefer handgun hunting, but lime the long gun option at times.
Design & craftsmanship seem 1st rate. So far im a happy camper & a very satisfied customer. Arons suggestions were spot on & Ethan did a great job in customer service & getting my size figured out.
Will give a followup report with pics when i can actually use it outside.
Thanks Kifaru

Awesome Vance!! Glad the first impressions are positive. I think you'll really like it! I hope you shoot a bear big enough that it will warrant the cargo panel and not fit in the Highcamp itself. :D

Congrats on the new Baby!!! And your new Baby!!! haha So, Vance, are you planning to drop camp (highcamp bag) and carry just frame and cargo panel? Lets see some pics!!!

Thanks Luke. I really hope to put it to good use soon.
And thanks for the congrats on the grandbaby guys. He arrived at 735pm last night. 9#1.5oz, 20". 20hrs of active labor & 3 hrs of pushing. My daughter is one tough Alaska Chick!;) My son-in-law is one proud dad. Their 1st baby, our 1st graddbaby.

Colby Jack, time will tell on in the field setup, & I am sure it will vary with circumstances. I can see packing camp every day to stay mobile chasing black bear in the high country. Hunting from a base camp not sure how I will do it. Would like a small capacity bag to stick on it. Take emergency overnight gear, kill kit, spotter if applicable, rain gear, puffy... and cargo panel. May find main bag compresses enough to just use it. Have a lot of fun experimenting to do...
